Matched by Ally Condie

The Matched Series by Ally Condie include the books: Matched, Crossed, and Reached.

In Matched you meet Cassia who lives in a high tech, security filled, odd world. Cassia has a great mind which is frowned upon by the higher ups of the world she lives in. Everyone is to keep to their daily schedule, eat their perfectly rationed food, and never step out of line. Cassia is headed to her Matching ceremony, where she will find out who she is to marry and raise a family with, in the beginning of the book. She gets matched to who she thought and hoped she would but there has been a mistake and there are two people on her microcard. Xander, who Cassia has grown up with and known all her life is suppose to be her match, but why did Ky show up on her microcard too?

This is the first book I had read of Ally Condie's and it was AMAZING! I have also read Crossed and Reached, which are just as good if not better, than Matched. The story of Cassia and everything she does is truly wonderful.

I highly recommend the Matched series by Ally Condie.

My Review of Darkness Breaks by Jessica Sorenson

Okay, so I know this book came out a few months ago, but within that few months time I have probably read this book 4-5 times. The first book, Darkness Falls, instantly became one of my favorite books, as well as this book.

Darkness Breaks picks up where Darkness Falls left off. Kayla (Juniper) is with Sylas, who I may add is my favorite character of this series. I don't want to give too much away because I hate when I read a review and they ruin the book by doing that. Kayla has to face many more downs than ups in this book and is shocked by many secrets. Sylas takes the high road when it comes to his actions and feelings when dealing with Kayla, but the same cannot necessarily be said for his brother Aiden. You will see a much softer side of Sylas when he is dealing with Kayla.

A shocker is revealed about Monarch (which I am still shocked)and find out more of Monarch's plans and the back story of Kayla, Sylas, and Aiden. Many of your questions from Darkness Falls are answered in Darkness Breaks, but more questions are formed by the end. Also, there is a new breed in the post apocalyptic world that poses as a new threat.

The end of the book left me completely shocked and wanting more, which Jessica Sorenson is amazing at doing. Kayla fianlly has a deep question answered for her but something crazy happens making you sit on the edge of your seat waiting on Darkness Fades which is due out sometime in 2013.

Jessica Sorenson is a wonderful author. I am a huge fan of her and her books. You will probably be able to draw that conclusion on your own because I will be reviewing many of her books on here. I hope you guys liked my review, it was my first one on here so I was a little nervous doing it. I usually just do a quick review on Barnes and Noble.com.

I will leave you all with one of my favorite parts of the book:

"You know I really do love you." Sylas moves closer and whispers from his chains, "Even though Monarch says I can't-that it's not my place."

I search his face for a sign he's joking. "Oh really." I scoot toward him, lugging the chains around my wrists with me. "Is that the truth, Sylas Anders?"

His eyes are dark, his grin teasing. "You tell me, Kayla Juniper."

I press back a smile, secretly loving that he used my nickname. "I don't know..my gift is a little rusty today. Maybe you'll just have to show me."

There's more to it, but you will just have to read the book to find out what happened.

Introduction

This is my first blog, so please be patient with me. I LOVE reading books. I can sit down with a good book and finish it in just a few hours (after my kids go to bed). I have always enjoyed reading and ever since my husband bought me a Nook for Valentine's Day this year, I have taken my reading obsession to a whole new level.

I always try to write a review on books that I have read. I feel that a good, honest review helps out not only potential readers of the books, but also helps the authors. I enjoy reading other readers' reviews and thought to myself that I should be blogging my reviews of books. Now I don't know if anyone will read this. I mean this whole blog is going to be about my opinions and views on the books I read. I hope it is interesting to someone out there, but if it's not then that's okay, I'm doing this for all those wonderful books out there that deserve to be read.

I am about to start a new book by one of my favorite authors, Jessica Sorenson, called The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden. I have been looking forward to this book for so long and cannot wait to dive head first into it! I have read many of Mrs. Sorenson's books and love every single one of them. I will be reviewing some of her books that I've already read, because they are just AMAZING!

Well, I think that is enough for the introduction to this. I hope someone out there will find my reviews insightful.
